Stretching along the south shore of the Colorado, from Pleasant Valley Rd. to the
Montopolis bridge, Roy Guerrero Colorado River Park is the largest park amenity east
of I 35, with over 366 acres (larger than Zilker Park). Presently it is only 25%
developed, with the Kreig baseball fields on the west end of the park and the
Montopolis Youth Sports Complex on the east end. It is the last natural, undisturbed
area along the Colorado River in the urban area.

PODER has established "Keepers of Roy Guerrero Colorado River Park", a friends of
the park group to help monitor and insure that the park continues to develop in a way
that will preserve the natural habitat of the wild life and the environment. PODER is also
working to bring communities of color to the natural park area.

The Keepers will offer nature walk tours through the park upon request. For more
information, or to schedule a tour, contact Daniel Llanes, Coordinator of Keepers of the
Roy Guerrero Colorado River Park at (512) 389-1512, or PODER (512) 472-9921.
